In this Episode US Sport Aviation Expo 2019 Day 1:
- Pilot Jim G discussing getting youth involved in aviation especially through Sun N Fun programs and the Central Florida Aviation Academy, a high school with an aviation focus helping students graduate with some of their ratings. He also discussed what Light Sport Aviation is, why it exists, and how it helps people get involved in aviation at a lower barrier.
- Jamie Becket discussing the differences between “Light Sport” and simply “Sport Aviation.” Jamie is an AOPA Ambassador, working for the “You Can Fly” Program.
- Dylan Vogel, discussing the Icon A5, the “Swiss Army Knife” of airplanes. It has foldable wings, fits in a 1 car garage, and can be operated from land or sea, and is trailer friendly. It requires a Light Sport Certificate, and can be flown at night and in most airspace.
- Bretten Howel at the Bristell booth, discussing the Sebring Flight Academy.
- Craig Elsworth of Aviation Insurance Resources discussing the importance of aviation related insurance, some of the situations in which you need aviation insurance, and some of the trends in the industry right now.
