Holy takeoffs and landings, Batman – We’ve hit 50 episodes! To celebrate our 50th show each co-host spent time going through their pilot logbooks to find and share some of their 50th flying events. From their 50th logbook entry, to the 50th hour flown, 50th landing, 50th aircraft flown, and a whole heap of other 50’s! This is our golden episode, the show about 50’s, where we reminisce in logbook memories.

This 50th thing is a neat little game. My 50th flight was instrument training with a VOR-A@HTO, ILS24@ISP, & NDB01@FRG. My 50th hour was on my long solo x-c for private, second leg, between POU & BDL. After my 50th landing, my instructor hopped out and I went on my first solo, on my birthday. I haven’t had 50 night landings or aircraft types yet. My 50th hour PIC was during a long x-c for my instrument training VOR 24 Circle to Land 33 @ MVY, GPS 23 @ KGON, ILS 24 @ ISP. My 50th x-c hour was during my commercial training from FRG to SWF. My 50th Solo hour was a flight to ISP to meet the DPE for my commercial checkride. My 50th approach was the NDB1 circle to land 32 @ FRG during my instrument training.

PaulPilipshen that’s really cool that you’re 50th landing was the one just before your first solo! Thanks for sharing your 50’s with us and for your listenership.
