Great review!
I’m not sure if plates is for me, but if someone just wants approach plates, without everything else included with ForeFlight, this seems like a great product for them. And it saves them a little bit of money than the full ForeFlight subscription.

Thanks, Mike – glad you enjoyed the video. And you’re correct in that Plates is like a stripped down version of ForeFlight. As I mentioned on Twitter, it’s more geared towards folks that only have a need for instrument approach plates and not the whole flight planning enchilada.
And it certainly is a nice app too. While the free trial is limited to only KJFK’s approach plates, you certainly get to see the app’s full functionality to aid in one’s buying decision. I was pretty pleased with Plates!
