  1. Hi guys,

Yes, please do more on IFR flying. I am back in the cockpit after a 26 year absence. I passed my BFR without too much difficulty and am now working on an IPC. Any tips I can get are helpful. Thanks so much! Keep up the good work.

    1. Hi Donnavon! Thanks for your feedback. We are definitely interested in discussing more IFR topics in the future (well, I am anyway!)

If you have any specific requests we’d be happy to take them into consideration. What problem areas are you seeing in your return to flying? How much have things changed in the 26 years (a lot, I know)?

Also a shameless plug for my blog site, which is also linked in the show notes: http://cfiruss.blogspot.com/ Browse through there, there should be some more articles you may find interesting.

      Thanks for listening!

  2. Which airport in the Chicago area has an ILS step-down fix, that you mentioned in your podcast? I’d like to look at it.

    Thanks, Jeff

  3. Which airport in the Chicago area has an ILS approach during which if you are on glide slope, you could potentially fly below a step down fix? I’d like to take a look at it. You mentioned it approximately 30 minutes into the podcast.

    Thanks, Jeff

    1. The anomaly is on the ILS 27L at Chicago O’Hare, KORD. On Warm days or days with high barometric pressure the step-downs the localizer glide path may be bellow the step down fixes.
