Video: Starting the APU on a Citation X

In this video, I give you a quick explanation of the procedure for starting the Auxiliary Power Unit on the Cessna Citation X.  The APU is a small jet engine in the tail of the airplane that we use to provide power and air conditioning on the ground before the engines are started.   This allows us to get the cabin to a comfortable temperature before the passengers arrive.  Also, because we then have the airplane powered, we can get the ATC clearance, enter the flight plan, and do a variety of pre-flight checks before starting the engines.  This not only saves fuel, but saves a ton of time as well.

This was taken over the summer at Love Field in Dallas, TX as we prepared for a flight to Las Vegas, NV.  Enjoy!
