I recently had an opportunity to compare the AvPad iPad Kneeboard with 5 other iPad kneeboard products during my recent visit to Oshkosh AirVenture 2011. The 5 products in comparison were the Gold Seal iPro Aviator, Knee Dock, MyClip, all MyGoFlight kneeboards, and the Air Gizmos iPad Knee Dock.
My favorite of course being the AvPad iPad Kneeboard and here’s my 3 reasons why.
1. The competitors products are all made from plastic, probably injection molded, and while they are all decent products, some of them real cheap and flimsy. While I wouldn’t call these other kneeboard products junk by any means I just prefer the high quality corduroy nylon manufactured AvPad.
2. The other kneeboard products lack the innovation in design and features. Plainly said, they are kneeboards that you use in conjunction with your iPad. You’d never use this product outside the aircraft. The AvPad, however, is almost like a slim day planner with pockets and room for pens and a notepad. An AvPad makes a GREAT all around day-to-day case.
3. A portion of all AvPad sales are donated to the Pilots n Paws organization, http://PilotsNPaws.org, where people donation their time and personal aircraft for transporting pets and animals in need. Whether these pets are neglected or homeless, Pilots n Paws uses general aviation as a tool for helping rescue animals. Do the other kneeboard manufactures do this? I’ll give you 2 options but you’ll only need one – NO.
Simply put, the AvPad iPad Kneeboard is a high quality product, made in the USA, created by a pilot FOR pilots, and supports an amazing charitable cause to rescue animals.
What more do I need to say? Oh yeah, go buy an AvPad already!
